SING IT

Don took Caleb, Zach and Rachel to Pittsburgh this weekend for a small family get together. So it was just me and the little kiddos. Ethan and Mayah helped me make muffins for those going on the long road trip. It is really lonely here without everyone. I think I have forgotten how to entertain small kids. The older ones can play soccer or kick ball with me but the younger ones take a little more "thinking" on my part. Saturday I took them to Tigonderoga Farms. It was alot of fun. They had HUGE slides and hay rides and goats and just all sorts of cool things. Plus the guy didn't charge us because it was the opening day and it was a little muddy. Kids didn't mind that at all. It was cool to see the place where many of the soldiers from the Manassas Battlefield died. It was where the soldiers were treated for their wounds as well. There was still remnants of the original house built there in the 1700's. The hayride took us around the farm and every once in awhile the driver would stop and let us in on the history. It was kind of funny when the driver of the hay ride came to a point and couldn't go any further. The gate was locked and he attempted to back up the trailer but No such luck. I know how hard it is to do. I have tried to back up a small tractor that had a trailer hooked to it and there is NO way I can do it. SO I felt his pain. He was probably embarrassed. Dad and Dan and "MAYBE" Ron----yes we know you would have been able to do it. He had to go up a hill and turn it around that way. Made me a bit nervous but it worked.

Well it was alot of fun and the boys working at the slides were amazing. For highschool aged boys they really surprised me with how nice and caring they were toward the kids.

Then after I got the kids to bed on Saturday I was able to watch the womens conference on the computer. It was good (as usual) and I really enjoyed Elder Uchtdorf's talk. I love the Prophet and his counselors when they speak to the women. They really put women on a pedastal. They are just truly awesome. And they always make me feel like I am doing a good job even though I know I have a LONG way to go.

Sunday morning we all got ready early. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? SO we had lots of time to sing. Yesterday at a garage sale I got a brand new Karoke machine with three cd's all for only $15. There are some good songs. Can't wait till the other kids get home so we can have some contests. Mayah and Ethan sat together and sang "I got you babe". They loved it.

I forgot to take my camera to the farm. I HATE THAT. Oh well. The memories will have to be in our minds. That's scary.

Now we just wait till our other halves come back from Pittsburgh.

Big Red- Yo.

I did live in Chantilly. Who's feeding you this information? Too bad we missed each other out East. We could have had a grand ol' time.

I have Ron's phone number, and left a voicemail on his cell phone today. Call the boy up and get my phone number from him. I want to talk, but don't want to put my contact info on anything public. Does that sound paranoid? Oh well- but I also don't have to fend off telemarketers.

Talk to you soon Big Red!
