So Don told me today that he has to travel again. My first reaction was anger. But then I realized that being angry will not change anything so why use up the energy. So I decided that if there wasn't anything I could do I might as well have a good attitude. It isn't easy and I have to keep reminding myself not to get mad or be irritated. I already cried (only slightly though----that's pretty good for me). I think I am growing up FINALLY. :) So after getting kids to bed I decided to read from a few blogs. This was awesome and I am just so grateful for Pres. Hinckley. He is probably the most optimistic person. Plus he reminds me a little bit of my Grandpa Rush. I don't know what it is but maybe it is just the "old look" but still there is something about him that I remember seeing in my own grandfather. I just can't pin point exactly what it is. But he is so so cute. Don't ya think?
In my ninety-plus years, I have learned a secret. I have learned that when good men and good women face challenges with optimism, things will work out! Despite how difficult circumstances may look at the moment, those who have faith and move forward with a happy spirit will find that things always work out. ~ Gordon B. Hinckley.
~OR~
Of course there are times of sorrow. Of course there are hours of concern and anxiety. We all worry. But the Lord has told us to lift our hearts and rejoice. I see so many people. . .who seem never to see the sunshine, but who constantly walk with storms under cloudy skies. Cultivate an attitude of happiness. Cultivate a spirit of optimism. Walk with faith, rejoicing in the beauties of nature, in the goodness of those you love, in the testimony which you carry in your heart concerning things divine. ~ Gordon B. Hinckley.

I am always working on that positive attitude thing, but keeping it up through so many rounds of single-parenting...well, I just find you amazing. Let me know if I can help in any way: spell you off for a while with the younger kids so you can have some sane time, bring dinner on a really bad night, you know, whatever...
