Today I went out with the boys to sled down our hill. It wasn't working so well so we decided to build us a snow fort. We piled and piled up a bunch of snow. It reached to about my chest. Then we hollowed it out to make an igloo. The boys were able to fit inside sitting down. While they were enjoying the nice igloo I was on the outside packing more snow on with the shovel. The snow made it just perfect to where I could scoop a bunch of snow and then smack it on to the igloo with the snow shovel. I was on a roll and making it bigger and bigger when all of a sudden it fell right on top. For a second I got scared thinking all of this snow would be on top of them. But their heads stuck out and we all began laughing. PHEW....all that hard work for that? We were out for more than an hour just making this fort. I made them stay like that while I ran in to get the camera.

ok Lisa you are awesome! how cool of a mother are you to actually go outside and play with your kids in the snow. I'm such a wimp when it comes to the snow (who would of thought half my life I lived in Utah). I remember growing up my Dad always piled snow with the snowblower and we'd fashion out a snow cave. so much fun! ever since moving to VA I've become a wimp about winter weather but I'm going to have to get over that and play with the kids outside... or maybe just send alejandro outside with them again :)
Melissa...I have to do something to make up for all the other bad mommy moments. Trust me...lately I haven't been a good mommy. Do you think they will remember the playing in the snow more than the other 'moments'. I am praying.
I think they will remember Lisa especially since you documented the good moments :)
Winter and then added holidays in the mix can sometimes be crazy but try not to be so hard on yourself, we all do the best we can in any given situation and when we fall short well... that's what the atonement is for, I think sometimes as humans we underestimate the far reaching effects of the atonement.
and if you feel bad well, read up on my embarrassing moments on my blog, that's sure to put a smile on your face :)
