That is the day Mayah Nicole Puhlman was born. It was an exciting time. It was our fifth child and another girl. We were happy. Don was going to school in a small town in Washington state. We really enjoyed that area and loved the ward there. Mayah came quickly.........as most of my kids did once I got to the hospital. But after Mayah was born things just weren't right. They didn't put her on my chest like they normally do. They put her under the light and a couple of the nurses worked with her for awhile. I was kind of out of it. I wasn't quite sure what was going on. I was tired and in some pain since I didn't have an edidural. The dr. was stitching me up so I was concentrating on that. Finally..........they told me that they were going to have to take her away for awhile. She was having problems breathing. They called in her Pediatrician to take a look. It didn't take long for them to realize that she has pneumothorax. That is where a collection of air or gas is in the chest or pleural space and it causes part or all of a lung to collapse. They had to insert a needle in her chest to get the air out. After doing that procedure they had to ambulance her to a bigger hospital that was about an hour or so away. SO Don followed in his car and I had to stay behind until I could be released. That was the hardest part...........staying behind. But everything worked out well and we have our daughter here today. And what a blessing she is to us. A little stubborn but OH SO FUNNY.
Being very careful to put the perfect amount of frosting on her cupcake.
More games............
Enjoying eating the cupcakes.
Happy Birthday Mayah................
