Catching my breath

So this is super funny and it really made me laugh ALOT. So not only did someone in our ward take the kids for a night plus all day Saturday but she also wrote down some super funny things that they said and did. I swear, Ethan is as funny as they get. I was a little embarrassed by what Rachel said but it made me feel a bit better when Laura said she was just as opinionated when she was younger. Thanks Laura so much and also Leisl and Devon. Ok so here is the list: One quick note-----they have a dog and his name is Toby too. Just so you don't think that we took the dog over there. Pretty funny that the two dogs have the same name.

Here are some funny stories from your kids' stay with us:

About thirty seconds after you left, the kids found our gingerbread house. We realized we might need to hide it when Mayah came around the corner with candy in both hands, candy in her mouth, green drool dripping from her chin, and candy stuck to her bottom.

The boys' favorite trick with the electric train was running it faster and faster until it shot off the curve.

At the park I was pushing Mayah on the swing and heard Ethan holler that he needed to go to the bathroom. He came running, and I asked, "Poop or pee?" and started trying to get Mayah out of the baby swing and calculating how fast we could get home. The next moment I looked and Ethan had dropped his pants and was making a stream right there by the swing. Devon and I just cracked up.

The boys all slept in Devon's room, Caleb and Zack on folding cots, Devon in his bed, and Ethan on a pile of blankets on the floor. They arranged their beds so they were all sleeping around Toby. In the middle of the night, Ethan came into my room crying, "Toby took my blanket!" When we got back to the boys room, there was Toby on Ethan's bed, snuggled up with Ethan's blanket. We kicked him off and got Ethan all tucked in again, but it was so cute and funny.

I didn't witness this one, but Devon said that when the boys were getting dressed in the morning, Ethan was running around in his underpants, chasing Devon and swinging his shirt over his head.

When Liesle's date came to pick her up, Rachel asked the boy where they were going. He's a big guy and he had to bend over to talk to her. He told her where they were going, and Rachel asked if she could come, too. He told her he was sorry, but he didn't have room in his car, unless she wanted to ride on the roof. She thought for a moment then her eyes narrowed and she said, "You only have two seats in your car?" As they went out the door, she followed them chanting, "Can I come? Can I come? Can I come?"

Liesle and I thought it was adorable how Mayah says, "Smismas tree" and she has to get a running start to get that big word out--"Smi--smi--smis--smismas tree."
I already told you how I was messing with Rachel about my cooking, but I didn't tell you about Zack's line:

Rachel -- "I really don't like this."
Laura -- "Of course not. You don't like anything I cook."
Rachel -- "I like lots of things!"
Laura -- "Yes, but if I cooked them, you wouldn't like them."
Zack (eyeing me and taking deliberate bites) -- This is delicious.

You have great kids and we had so much fun with them. It was like stepping back in time. I kept saying to my kids, "This is exactly like you were," and "Remember when you guys did this?" (Case in point: One time my next door neighbor called me, laughing, and told me to look out my front window. There were three little Biggs boys standing together, peeing on the tree in the front yard.)

We would happily have them again, so you know who to call next time you want a getaway.

Love,
Laura

How do your kids get so funny. Sometimes we parents get a bad rap for thinking that our kids are the only funny ones out there. But I really think that your kids are funny every time. Thanks for sharing your cute moments.
