Parent/Teacher conferences

Monday was parent teacher conferences for Zach and Rachel. I had already had a chance to meet both their teachers at an ealier time so Don went to the conferences. When he came home he talked with each child about what the teachers had said and he started with the negative.

Zach: At the beginning of the school year Zach had to walk laps. This school has a great way of disciplining. When they get into trouble they have to walk around the track. GREAT. I love that. It is so much better than taking away THE ONLY RECESS THEY GET. That is another issue that annoys me. But he is doing a lot better and does quite well in all his classes. He is a good reader and is getting mostly A's. His teacher had sent home a not asking the parents to please help the kids study their economics because alot of them were just NOT getting it. Well I didn't help him study and he came home with all A's on his test. I hope he will continue his good grades and work hard to deserve them.

Rachel: She just loves to talk. HMMM wonder where she gets that. That wouldn't be from Don. LOL. He is quite the quiet more reserved. ME? Well I love to talk. And I refuse to go hunting with Don because I can't stand the thought of having to be quiet for so long. That is absolutely just torture. Plus Rachel's teacher said she sometimes, but rarely, will give the teacher a certain 'look'. Almost an attitude I guess. So she got a good talking about that. BUT...the positive is awesome. She is at the top of her class and she reads way above and beyond her age. So that aspect of her is more like Don. I am the talker and Don is the thinker.

Don't you just love hearing that your kids are doing well? And I have no idea where Rachel gets her talking from, you are so reserved. hee hee

I love when you can talk about the positives....Rachel's talking has to be genetic! It will serve her well later...just hard to get through school....
Congrats to the kids

that attitude will serve her well especially when she gets to college and gets to challenge her professors! (I know from experience!!) You certainly are raising some smart kids! congrats to them both!

walking laps IS a great idea! we used to have to run laps for cheerleading anytime we gave a little trouble and we shaped up fast!
