Today at church they opened up the side doors to let a gentlemen in that was walking with a walker. I have not been in this new ward long and so I don't know much about this guy but I do know that today is probably one of the most spiritual testimony meetings I have been in. I am not too sure how old he is but all his kids are grown. He is probably in his 70's. I remember them mentioning for us to remember him in our prayers because he has cancer. But that wasn't very long ago and I hadn't seen him for a couple of Sundays. Well today he was the first one up to bear his testimony. They actually handed him the microphone. He had such a powerful testimony and he said it would probably be his last testimony meeting. He was amazing. I couldn't even believe he took the effort to get their with how sick he is. I don't think there was a dry eye today. Everyone in the bishopric bore their testimony and the bishop said the Dr. didn't expect him to live through the weekend and yet he was there today. What an example of being at church even when you don't feel so 'good'. Those who spoke of him talked about how he was always one to serve. He gave people umbrellas, flashlights and things like that. It is so awesome that he leaves behind such a great example to the ward. I LOVE people like this. He was so cute too. He was this tiny little guy with a white beard and side burns.
His words will be remembered by many people. He spoke of how we are sent to the earth to be tested and tried. We are so blessed to be on the earth at this great time and how blessed we are to have the truth. He really brought a powerful message to us this day and I thought it was important to write it down to remember. I especially want to remember how dedicated he was to come to church knowing that it will probably be his last Sunday on earth. What a message. I know I will be more willing now to go to church NO MATTER WHAT. I loved this day more than anything.

Our testimony meeting was similar today. A woman in our wards brother is not expected to make it through the next few days and her and her husbands testimonies were so powerful. Her brother is in the area...I wonder if this is the same person??
Do you remember the last name/
His name is Russ Scoville, and yes,it is the same person. He's my uncle.
